Bob has established an admirable reputation for trust, expertise, creative solutions and dynamic management while working with clients. It is these strengths that have led to his long-term success. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, specializing in employee benefits for 27 of those years.

He joined Frank in 1989, and to this day the agency continues to grow and prosper under Bob's vision and leadership. A native of Boone, Iowa, Bob is a natural-born teacher (after graduating from Drake, he was a high school teacher and coach) with a remarkable ability to guide others through the intricacies of employee benefits. What's more, his continual pursuit of knowledge translates into his being able to provide quality service and advice to clients.

Bob and his wife Frances, of Urbandale, have two married daughters and two grandchildren. He's held leadership roles with several local civic and charitable organizations and is very active in his church. When time permits, Bob enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and listening to music.

While growing up on a farm outside of Story City, Iowa, Marcia learned the value of hard work and honesty. After graduating from Luther College, she moved to Des Moines, where her insurance career began.

Marcia joined Berlin & Associates in 2000 after spending more than 10 years working as a group underwriter, account manager and marketing consultant for a major insurance company. Today a specialist serving our firm's largest national accounts, Marcia draws on those early experiences and is an expert in developing highly effective, customized benefit plans. She's also earned a reputation for her uncanny ability to turn the most complex issues into easy-to-understand solutions.

Marcia and her husband, Jim, reside in Urbandale, where they enjoy their blended family of eight children and nine grandchildren. She enjoys watching her daughter play competitive softball and returning to her roots as a Cyclone fan.

Cari, who calls upon her past experience in the insurance industry to help clients analyze financial data and plan design, is someone you might call a life-long learner. Surrounded by teachers while growing up in Ames, Iowa, she's passionate about knowledge. After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa (with a major in finance and double-minor in accounting and international business), it was on to Drake University, where she attained her MBA degree. Now, she's pursuing her Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation—and we're confident her educational pursuits won't stop there.

Her understanding of the insurance business catapulted during Cari's early years as a group medical underwriter for a major insurance company. Since 2006, she's been with Berlin & Associates, focusing on serving the firm's clients with financial data analysis and plan design, which includes rating methodologies, historical and current rate trends, benchmarking, SPD review and applicable underwriting and rate development.

Cari and her husband, Tony, live in Ankeny, Iowa, and recently welcomed their first child, a daughter!

With more than 30 years of experience, Pam is our expert in voluntary products and retirement plans. She draws on her background in financial planning and her certification as an "Accredited Investment Fiduciary" , bringing a unique combination of skills and services to our clients. She joined Berlin & Associates in 1994 and specializes in plan design and implementation as well as employer/employee education and communication.

Born and raised in Greenfield, Iowa, Pam grew up working in her parents' small country grocery store. It was there she learned the value of providing exceptional customer service. And for the past 30-plus years, Pam's delivered just that to our insurance and financial planning clients.

Pam and her husband Doug, of Urbandale, have one daughter. As avid University of Iowa Hawkeye fans, Saturdays during the fall will usually find the Freeman family cheering on the Hawks at Iowa City's Kinnick Stadium.

Mary oversees our daily operations. Her results-driven nature enables her to expertly execute strategic planning, financial analysis and contract review for our agency.

Mary's sharp focus grew out of her early career experience as a bank examiner and later working for a major Insurance company. She joined Berlin & Associates in 2006, and has 25-plus years of experience in finance and insurance.

She is a native of West Des Moines, Iowa, where she lives with her husband Eric and two children. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Finance in 1986. Whether volunteering her time in the community, rallying support for a favorite cause or instigating a family function, you can count on her involvement.

While growing up in Johnston, it was nearly impossible to pull Kyle out of the gym or off the sports fields.  Through these athletic experiences, Kyle developed his competitive drive and desire to be the best in all that he does—and since 2006, his work in employee benefits has been no different. A proven winner, Kyle is the newest member of the Berlin & Associates team and is responsible for growing our business by providing best-in-class solutions to each customer he serves. 

Kyle is committed to our community and playing a role in its future.  A public servant, he was elected to the Altoona City Council in 2009 and currently serves on the Metropolitan Planning Organization and as an executive committee member for the Metro Advisory Council.  Kyle is a proud graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute and feels honored to have been selected as a member of the 2010 Business Record’s “40 under 40.”

Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda and one-year-old son and is an avid golfer.

A graduate of Drake University's advertising and public relations program, Laura is a die-hard Bulldog fan who hails from Lake City, Iowa. Although she's often seen "rocking the stands" with her husband at Bulldog games, she's all about providing prompt, efficient service at Berlin & Associates.

Laura's 16 years of experience in individual and group insurance are key to her ability to expertly assist clients with a multitude of needs, from reviewing plan documents and explaining key compliance issues to implementing web-based benefit enrollment/data management systems. She also helps assure that our clients keep current on important industry news by distributing e-newsletters and invitations to upcoming webinars.

Laura lives in Johnston with her husband, Kevin. In addition to being a Bulldog devotee, she loves music and the arts. She sings with her church choir and, when asked, fondly recalls her days working as an usher at the Civic Center, where she was actually paid to see the shows! 

Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, Jill is a proud Hoover High School grad. From there, she went to the University of Louisville on a tennis scholarship, where she played for the "Cards." After graduating in 1989, she spent seven years working as a tennis pro at a Des Moines club, where she coordinated activities and tournaments and taught group and private lessons. She credits that work experience with the strong organizational and personal skills she has today.

Since joining Berlin & Associates in 1996, our clients have come to depend on Jill's day-to-day, "on-the-ball" involvement. As a liaison between clients and carriers, her outstanding customer service and strong problem-solving skills shine strong. She's also a pro at managing renewals and the implementation process, coordinating reports, managing data and assisting some clients with individual medical policies and Medicare supplements.

Jill's passions include her family, volunteering for the John Stoddard Cancer Center and of course, "The Cards."
